To mark International Missing Children’s Day on May 25, the Child Focus association wanted to shine the spotlight on children who have been missing for several years.
It’s a fact that few people today know or hear about these children, like Liam Vanden Branden, who disappeared in 1996. While others benefit from exceptional visibility….
The association then decided to capitalize on the referencing of articles on footballer Thibaut Courtois, borrowing his name to rename the missing child. So, when someone searches for the key words “Thibaut Courtois” on the Internet, the wanted poster for little Liam will appear.
An interesting mechanism, but one that nevertheless raises questions about its effectiveness. Was the timing right at a time when all the talk about Thibaut Courtois is focused on his absence from Euro 2024?
